    The Cork Tree Residences is nestled within a peaceful, quiet and tranquil area, here you will find oak tree forests and pine groves, all in close proximity to one of the longest uninterrupted stretches of pristine white sandy beach in the world.

Our Location

The location at Comporta for The Cork Tree Residences was chosen with great care. It was important to find the perfect piece of land in a beautiful setting that was also practical for our clients, enabling them to access a wide range of activities and amenities.

At the same time, it is just 3km down a picturesque country lane. It is both a charming and secret location and yet easily accessible.

A municipality since 1544, Grândola is an area of contrasts, with a coastline of 45 km of white sandy beaches along one edge, rising to a leafy ridge at its inland edge. Here you will find one of only three European Tour Professional golf courses in the country, be able to rent a yacht for the day, let your hair down at the casino and enjoy a cheeky flutter or enjoy many delicious meals in the numerous restaurants scattered along the coast and in small fishing villages.

There is a great deal of cultural activity on hand too. Choose from enjoying a complete archaeological tour through the Roman ruins of Troia or journey to Melides and Lousal, where you will also find the Life Science Centre and the Mining Museum.

In the mountain range of Grândola, you will find a circular 17km/10.5mile walk which reaches a maximum altitude of 309m/1013ft where you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view. In the town of Grândola itself, you can visit several historical monuments commemorating various historical periods and the highly recommended Museum of Sacred Art.

Throughout the year, there are numerous events of popular culture, such as the traditional “Hunting & Fishing Fair” the "August Fair" and the "Portuguese Pub Crawl" as well as sporting events such as "The Grândola Mountain Ultra Trail" and the "Ultramarathon Atlântica" on the beach.

In this area of the country, there are over 300 days of sun per year as well as perfect air quality, good food, low cost of living and friendly and welcoming people. With a climate similar to Southern California, there is plenty to do here for active retirees; golf, sailing, diving, biking, riding and hiking. For the more sedentary, choose from light gardening as well as many other interest groups. Living or visiting here, all of the great cities of Europe are at your doorstep. You can drive to Madrid, Seville or Barcelona in Spain. The south of France is only a day’s drive away.

Grândola became a town in 1544. It covers 814 sq. km. A municipality, it has 14,800 inhabitants. Here you will find no shortage of:
